THREE men fled the scene of a car crash after their vehicle flipped onto its roof after colliding with a traffic island.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the accident on Wednesday evening on the coast road near Seton Sands.
Officers were called to the scene after a car was seen lying upside down on the B1348 as it headed towards the holiday village from Cockenzie and Port Seton.
Witnesses reported three men left the vehicle following the accident, however a police search of the surrounding area failed to find them.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland urged anyone with information to come forward.
They said: "Police received a report of a single vehicle crash on the B1348 near Long Craigs, Port Seton, around 8.40pm on 15 April.
"The three male occupants left the vehicle. Officers checked the surrounding area but no-one was located.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3743 of 15 April."
