A GRITTER became the latest victim of the winter weather when it took a tumble into a ditch between Haddington and Gifford earlier today (Monday).
The vehicle went off the road at Myreside near the junction to the Chippendale International School of Furniture at about 3.45pm (see image below, by Phoebe Harvey Wood).
A spokesperson for East Lothian Council confirmed that recovery was under way.
They added: “A gritting lorry came off the road on the outskirts of Gifford during winter weather conditions and ended up on the road verge.
“Roads operatives are in attendance. Thankfully no injuries were sustained and a tow truck has been called to remove the lorry.”
