TRIBUTES have been paid to prominent county fundraiser Scott Glynn, who passed away this morning.
Fellow Tranent resident Davie Martin shared the sad news of Scott's passing on social media earlier today (Wednesday).
His post read: "You are at peace now big man.
"Heartbreaking message of sadness from the Glynn family.
"My thoughts and prayers are with them all during this sad time.
"Today we said goodbye to the big man with the big heart who passed away peacefully this morning at 8.20am with my mum by his side.
"He had the toughest of journeys but he fought hard and battled bravely to stay as long as he could with his family."
The Tranent charity founder called time on his after-dinner speaking career last year due to health issues.
He had a liver transplant in 2017 and was named in the Queen's Birthday Honours List last year.
Scott, inspirational leader of the Walk With Scott Foundation, received an MBE for services to health and charity after raising more than £300,000 for local causes.
When it was announced he was to receive the honour, he said: "When I found out about the MBE, I was gobsmacked really.
“You don’t do things to get medals, you don’t help people for medals; I suppose I didn’t really realise the impact that the charity had made.
“I’ve been getting messages from people all over the world – people congratulating me and telling me how much they have been moved by the work that the charity has done. It’s really amazing.”
