DUNBAR'S Maria Lyle has won a magnificent gold medal at the World Para-Athletics Championships in Dubai.
Lyle won her first individual world title this evening in the T35 100m.
Three-time Paralympic medallist Lyle, 19, dominated her race, clocking a time of 14.62 secs.
The former Dunbar Grammar School pupil said: "I'm so happy".
"There were a few stumbles at the start of the race so to pull off a performance like that it means so much. It gives me confidence going into the Paralympic year."
Lyle won 4x100m gold in Doha in 2015 but said that a first individual global title had been a long time coming.
