A MUSSELBURGH woman is set to bring a packed line-up of actors from fantasy hits the Harry Potter movies, Game Of Thrones and The Hobbit to Edinburgh this summer.
Fiona Quillieti runs FQT Events, which, in collaboration with Manchester company Monopoly Events, is staging For The Love Of Fantasy 2019 at Edinburgh Academy in Stockbridge from July 26 to 28.
It follows last year’s ‘School of Witchcraft & Wizardry’ at Loretto School’s Pinkie House in Musselburgh, as she explained: “We are now in the second year of the event and have secured actors from Game Of Thrones and The Lord Of The Rings too to make this a truly magical event covering all fantasy genres.”
Miltos Yerolemou, who played Syrio Forel in Game Of Thrones, is teaching his on-screen sword classes and water dance from the smashhit TV series.
Other guest actors announced so far are: David Bradley, who played Argus Filch in Harry Potter and Walder Frey in Game Of Thrones; James Cosmo, who played Jeor Mormont in Game Of Thrones; Clive Russell, who played the ‘Blackfish’ Ser Brynden Tully in Game Of Thrones; Richard Brake, who played the Night King in Game Of Thrones; Spencer Wilding, Darth Vader in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and who also appeared in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Game Of Thrones and Harry Potter; Sylvester McCoy, who played the seventh Doctor in Doctor Who and Radagast in The Hobbit; and Harry Potter actors Stanislav Ianevski, who played Viktor Krum; Josh Herdman, who was Gregory Goyle; and Harry Potter’s dad James, played by Adrian Rawlins.
The event, hosted by Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley in Harry Potter, will feature a version of the Iron Throne from Game Of Thrones, a replica of the Weasley family flying car from Harry Potter, a magical train platform, interactive dragons and a magical marketplace packed full of licensed Game Of Thrones and Harry Potter merchandise.
Activities include a broomstick rodeo challenge, make your own magic wands, prop building classes where children can learn to use monster mud and paint film props, virtual reality gaming, magical film green screen, face painting and wand duelling.
There are costume competitions taking place for both children and adults, with prizes on offer.
