A PREFERRED candidate has been named to fill the headteacher vacancy at Knox Academy, Haddington.
Susan Cook, currently acting headteacher at Trinity Academy, Edinburgh, is set to take on the role, which is currently filled by Lauren Rodger as interim headteacher.
However, Mrs Rodger will return to her post leading North Berwick High School following the summer holidays.
Sarah Ingham, who was headteacher at the Haddington school, announced she would not be returning to Knox Academy following a period of leave.
Now Fiona Robertson, head of education at East Lothian Council, said pre-employment checks would be carried out but the council was hopeful of the new headteacher being in place soon.
She said in a statement on Knox Academy’s website: “I will be liaising with Susan [Cook]’s current employer to agree a start date and will provide a further update in due course.I am sure you will be looking forward to welcoming Susan as she brings a wealth of educational experience to Knox Academy.”
