After an incredible eight-months which saw the Prestonpans six-year-old catapulted into stardom and �31,000 raised for the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh, Jack Henderson has finally reached the end of his mammoth drawing sessions.

The Cockenzie Primary pupil (pictured) came up with the idea in March of drawing pictures in exchange for donations to the Sick Kids, which regularly treats his two-year-old brother Noah for breathing difficulties.

He has finally put down his pens and pencils, having finished an astounding 536 drawings in less than eight months.

The youngster's final drawing was a picture of his favourite rock band Queen, pictured as rocks. The band's famous curly-haired guitarist, Brian May, is just one of a number of celebrities to have requested drawings from Jack, with others including former Doctor Who star David Tennant.

Jack, who has used a total of 314 pens, 162 crayons and 96 pencils on 2,144 sheets of paper during his 268-hour drawing stint, has also had a book of his artwork published and has so far won two national awards, as well as Cockenzie and Port Seton Community Council's Young Achiever of the Year award, in recognition of his fundraising efforts.

The youngster said: "I am really happy about getting to the end. I feel a little bit shy from all the pictures and the interviews. I hope you have all enjoyed my drawings, I have raised lots of money for the Sick Kids but if you still want to donate, I would be really happy. Bye bye. Finished." Dad Ed added: "Jack has been amazing. Even when he was feeling unwell he kept going and got through his pictures. He is a typical six-year-old but underneath those freckles he is a superstar.

"We are so proud of him for all he has done and how he so maturely handles himself in the grown-up situations he has found himself these last few months."
