My name is Isobel Turner {nee Irving]. Betty was my lifelong friend. We lived beside each other on Dunbar Road until I was eleven years old when my family moved to Carlisle. We always stayed in touch, Betty and family spending many holidays with us and me staying with them in North Berwick. I last visited Betty in June when she was just like her old self so it was a great shock when Bruce rang me with the sad news of her death. Visiting North Berwick will never be the same again without my old pal being there. Rest in peace my dear friend

Betty was a lovely, lovely lady. I first met her in 1985 when she let me rent her holiday home in Lorne Lane whilst I was working as a Construction Engineer at Torness Nuclear Power Station.
We remained in touch ever since and often bumped into each other in the street for a catch up as myself, my wife and our two sons regularly holiday in North Berwick.
North Berwick without Betty will never be the same for me, please accept our sincere condolences Bruce, we are all thinking of you.
Ian Burrows, Derby.
