PAST gala kings and queens are being invited to celebrate West Barns Gala as the decades-old event is wound up.
The gala took place over 50 years but, due to a lack of volunteers, has not done so for the last eight years.
As a result, the committee has decided to wind it up for the foreseeable future.
To mark the occasion, a series of events are being planned from May 26 to June 8 at the village’s bowling club.
A spokesperson said: “The events include bowling competitions, children’s bingo and a tea dance.
“However, the highlight of the celebrations is a disco to which all the past gala queens, kings and courtiers are cordially invited.
“After these events, the committee will be wound up and any remaining funds will be distributed among the groups who have been involved in the past.”
