LIGHT-HEARTED tales about North Berwick are helping to restore the town’s harbour wall.
Representatives of North Berwick Drama Circle performed Believe it or Not! at the nearby Scottish Seabird Centre.
The performance told some lesser-known stories about the town in a light-hearted and entertaining way.
Now, the drama group has handed over a cheque for £600 to North Berwick Harbour Trust as it bids to repair the damage caused last year.
Clearance works took place earlier this year after a large hole was smashed in the wall amid stormy conditions last autumn.
Four-metre waves and spring tides created hazardous conditions and caused substantial damage to both the harbour wall and the walkway.
Works have been ongoing to repair the damage, with plans being drawn up and funding being sought.
A spokesperson for North Berwick Drama Circle said: “The community has supported us for many years, and we wanted to return the favour and do something meaningful for North Berwick.
“The appeal to raise funds for the harbour restoration fitted the bill perfectly, and we were delighted to be able to do this.”
