WORK to rebuild North Berwick's harbour wall will begin next week – and residents are able to help out too.
Four-metre waves and spring tides caused substantial damage to the wall and walkway towards the end of October last year.
Since then, East Lothian Council and a host of other organisations have been working hard towards this moment.
Rebuilding of the wall is to start on Monday morning and East Lothian residents can lend a hand by putting their photography skills to good use and sending in pictures of the wall before it was damaged.
In collaboration with North Berwick Harbour Trust, East Coast Masonry will be carrying out the building works – and the business owner told the Courier he was "proud" to be part of the project.
Iain Trotter, owner of East Coat Masonry, said: "We are extremely excited working on the harbour wall, as we are aware of how important it is to the community.
"As an East Lothian local, of Haddington, I am very proud to be taking part in this project due to the campaign and effort that residents have put into it.

"At the moment, locals can, if they want, help us out even more by sending photographs of the wall before it was destroyed, as we want to restore it to its exact original form.
"This will help us tremendously in bringing the harbour back to its former glory."
The rebuilding of the wall is set to get under way at 5am on Monday, with hopes that low tides will aid workers in their mission.
