TWO men have appeared in court to face a string of charges relating to air weapons.
John Smedley, 56, and James Smedley, 51, whose address was only given as East Lothian, both appeared in private on petition at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Monday.
Both were charged with three counts of possessing, purchasing or acquiring an air weapon without holding an air weapon certificate, as well as one count of drug possession.
John Smedley is also charged with having an article with a blade or point in a public place.
Neither accused made any plea and the case was committed for further examination.
The pair were released on bail and are set to make a further appearance at the court at a later date.
Their appearance in court follows police executing a search warrant at an address in Haddington on April 19, where a number of weapons were allegedly found.
