A MUSSELBURGH man has been remanded in custody, pending sentencing, after he admitted uttering threats of violence while at a home in Wallyford.
Ben Vanhagen, of Delta Road, was granted bail at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on April 22, 2022, with a condition not to attend at the property on the village’s Scarlett Park.
Vanhagen breached the order, attending at the premises without permission on July 15 the same year.
The 22-year-old then behaved in an aggressive manner at the same property and within the back of a police vehicle while on route to St Leonard’s Police Station in Edinburgh on July 13 last year. On that occasion, Vanhagen shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence and acted in an aggressive manner.
He had previously pleaded guilty to both offences and was due to be sentenced at the Capital court last Wednesday.
Vanhagen appeared in the dock from custody, where Sheriff Matthew Auchincloss was told that the previously called-for social work reports had not been prepared due to the fault of the offender.
Sheriff Auchincloss agreed to defer sentence for a second time to later this month for the reports to be carried out and remanded Vanhagen in custody to make sure he attended the social work appointment.
