Just a fortnight after launching his idea of drawing pictures for charity, Prestonpans six-year-old Jack Henderson hit his target of £10,000.

The Cockenzie Primary School pupil's original aim had been just £100 - and dad Ed was worried that it would just be a few family friends who would take part - but it took just six hours to break that target and within days Jack had become an internet sensation, as well as making appearances on national TV.

New targets of £500, then £1,000, were promptly smashed and the £10,000-mark was hit on Sunday when Scott Glynn, president of Tranent's Ross High RFC, gave a donation of £172.48 to take Jack over his final target.

Jack's website has been viewed more than 72,000 times from 115 different countries over the course of the two weeks it has been live.

He has been asked to design a cover for marketing magazine The Drum and name a new baby! The youngster wanted to raise money as a thank you to Edinburgh's Sick Kids' Hospital, which has frequently cared for his youngest brother Noah, who is regularly admitted to the hospital with breathing problems.

Jack, who lives on Struan Wynd with his family, which also includes mum Rose and brother Toby, has since drawn more than 60 pictures - including some as strange as dinosaurs diving into pools of jelly - and has a backlog of more than 500 to catch up on.
