A man has been arrested and charged with a hate crime after staff at a shop in Prestonpans reported being racially abused.
Police Scotland said a 44-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the incident, which happened on Monday, March 28.
The said staff in the Daytoday shop, on Redburn Road, were targeted in the incident.
Sergeant Laura White from Tranent Police Station said: "Hate crime in any form will not be tolerated and whenever offences of this nature are reported to us we will investigate thoroughly to bring those responsible to justice.
"Anyone wishing to report a hate crime can do so by contacting us on 101 or by making an anonymous report through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
