PROTESTORS have been gathering outside a house in Musselburgh amid claims that a convicted paedophile is living in the property.
Angry residents have been holding nightly vigils outside the home on Whitehill Avenue since last week.
And they say that they will continue the evening meetings until they are given assurances that the man in question has been removed from the area.
The group has launched a social media campaign to mobilise in the street each evening demanding action is taken.
Police Scotland said that they were aware of the protests and were monitoring the situation.
A police spokesperson said: “Police in East Lothian attended at an address in Whitehill Avenue, Musselburgh on Thursday, February 22, following reports of a protest outside the property.
“No offences were reported and those in attendance demonstrated peacefully.
“Officers are aware of plans for further demonstrations and any subsequent protests will be policed appropriately.”
