TOURING Europe and the chance to share the bill with a band with four top 40 albums… not bad for a band named after a Dunbar High Street shortcut.

Logan’s Close are playing shows in Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy before then performing alongside Britpop legends Kula Shaker.

The county band – made up of former Dunbar Colts central defensive duo Carl Marah and Scott Rough, alongside Stuart Neil (bass and backing vocals), Gavin Lamont (drums and percussion) and Sean Morrison (keyboard).– released their debut album Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi last year.

Now, they are taking the album to the masses across Europe.

Carl, who plays electric guitar, said: “It is the kind of thing that you say and it makes your mouth quiver when you smile.

“You try to act cool and it is part of being in a band.

“It is very, very exciting and totally one of those things that when you start playing guitar you have those images of yourself on stage with thousands of people looking at you.

“It is actually, somehow, going to be happening.”

The band, formed 10 years ago, already had dates pencilled in for gigs in Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy.

However, it looked as if their tour would come to an abrupt end.

The band’s connection with Kula Shaker, famous for hits including Tattva, Hush and Sound of Drums, came about in unusual circumstances.

While both bands were travelling from the airport to a festival, they ended up chatting to members of the band and became "quite pally".

That bond continued and saw them invited to join them on stage for a further Italian gig, as well as performing in Paris.

Carl said: “They heard us play as well and that was enough for them to like our vibe.

“For them to reach out to us is really humbling as well.

“It was completely out of the blue.”

Carl and Scott previously lived on the town’s Woodbush Court, with three-foot-wide Logan’s Close marking the quickest way to Dunbar’s High Street.

The band, who previously headlined the Dunbar Music Festival, already have a fanbase in Germany, having recorded their album in Hamburg.

However, while the image of musicians touring conjures up images of luxury buses and near non-stop partying, the pair joked it would likely be a little bit different for Logan’s Close.

Scott, who provides vocals and rhythm guitar, said: “There are a lot of things to work out with Brexit stuff, driving, the right mileage, how much we spend on fuel, accommodation and other things.

“We need to be on top of it and not forget stuff.

“It is not going to be the whole rockstar thing like Lez Zeppelin’s plane and they go out having a fireplace.

“No, it is going to be five sweaty men, a lack of showers, food and all a stone lighter by the time we come home!

“It will be a bit of an experience!”
