MORE than 30 large vehicles were stopped on the A1 yesterday (Wednesday) as part of extensive checks.
Roads police officers based in Dunbar teamed up with colleagues from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
The check, which took place between the Thistly Cross and Spott Roundabouts, saw eight heavy goods vehicles, 24 vans and four pick-ups stopped.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland outlined their findings and said: “Four delayed prohibitions, two no MOT offences, three immediate prohibitions, one vehicle overweight, and two drivers hours offences.”
