A VILLAGE’S library will open only every second weekend from Saturday.
Currently open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, East Lothian Council has taken the decision to change Gullane Library’s Saturday opening to alternate weekends.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: “Due to staff vacancies and in accordance with the current council recruitment freeze and need for financial savings, Gullane Library will be open on alternate Saturdays from May 4.
“We apologise for any inconvenience.”
The library will remain open from 10am to 1pm and 2-5pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, and now from 10am to 1pm on alternate Saturdays.
