A TRANENT motorist has been handed a further road ban after he was caught driving a vehicle while already disqualified.

Colin Fisher, 41, was spotted driving along the town’s High Street by police officers and pulled over in June last year.

During the investigations, it emerged that Fisher was using the vehicle having previously been banned from driving and was still serving the disqualification.

As a result of his ban, Fisher, of Stiel Grove, also had no valid insurance for the vehicle.

Fisher appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to both offences.

The Crown accepted not guilty pleas to two similar offences alleged to have occurred on June 17, 2022.

Sheriff Ian Anderson handed out a further interim driving ban on Fisher and deferred sentence for reports to May 9.

The sheriff said: “It is a serious matter to drive while disqualified so you must make sure you do not drive again while you are disqualified.”

Fisher pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while disqualified and with no insurance at High Street, Tranent, on June 2, 2023.
