A car fire forced the closure of the sliproad off the the A1 at the Bankton Junction earlier today.
The incident occurred at about 12:32pm on the eastbound (southbound) section of the A1 between Tranent and Blindwells.
Two fire engines were present at the scene, with firefighters safely extinguishing the fire.
No casualties were reported and firefighters remained at the scene until it was deemed safe.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.32pm on Monday, May 1 to reports of a car on fire at the A1 Gladsmuir to Bankton Junction near Tranent.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one car.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
