ONE of Scotland’s largest primary schools is on the lookout for a new headteacher.
Helen Gillanders will retire as headteacher of Dunbar Primary School ahead of the summer holidays, after 15 years in the role.
The school, which has more than 1,200 pupils, is split over two campuses.
The John Muir Campus has 16 P1-P3 classes and five rooms for a nursery. The Lochend Campus has 20 P4-P7 classes.
The school is also home to The Cove, for pupils with additional support needs.

The job advert notes: “The headteacher has no class commitment; there are six depute headteachers, three based at the John Muir Campus, with one who has responsibility for The Cove, and three based at the Lochend Campus.
“The school is also supported by two full-time principal teachers – inclusion and support, one principal teacher with full-time class commitment, a family support worker, a business support officer and an early years centre manager who has responsibility for the nursery.”
The headteacher salary is £89,670 per annum.
