A CAR had to be hosed down by the fire service and uplifted after it burst into flames near the Jet garage on Edinburgh Road in Tranent last Friday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called out at 5.32pm and arrived on the scene at 5.41pm.
The car was “well alight” when they arrived.
Two high-pressure hose reels were used to put the fire out.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to reports that a car was on fire on Edinburgh Road at 5.40pm on Friday, December 20.
“We assisted with road closures to allow the uplift of the vehicle. There was no criminality.”
