THE northbound carriageway of East Lothian's busiest road was closed to traffic following a car fire.
Police are in attendance at the incident on the A1 between Haddington and Gladsmuir.
The van fire took place at about 12.55pm this afternoon (Friday).
Traffic Scotland later confirmed that the road had been closed north of Haddington, with traffic being diverted at the Oaktree roundabout to use the A199 Macmerry road instead.
Long tailbacks were reported on the A1 as a result of the accident.
The road has now re-opened.
