A TRANENT man who alarmed a female teenager by offering her lifts home in his car has been told to stay away from the woman for the next five years.
Nicholas Bostock ended up turning up at her front door at an address in the town and delivering an unwanted letter to her.
Bostock, of Church Street, offered to give the teenager lifts home, causing her to fear his next move.
Bostock, 41, pleaded guilty to causing the woman fear and alarm during an appearance in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday.
Sheriff Peter Braid handed Bostock a five year non-harassment order, resulting in him being banned from contacting or approaching the woman or entering her street for the next five years.
He was also fined a total of £370.
Bostock admitted to engaging in a course of conduct which caused the woman fear and alarm by repeatedly offering her lifts home, and writing and delivering a letter to her door between June 15, 2014, and April 5 last year.
