A 78-YEAR-old man's body was recovered at the bottom of cliffs near Dunbar on Saturday evening.
Police Scotland were joined by colleagues from the town's inshore lifeboat at cliffs, off Marine Road, to the west of the town, at about 8.05pm.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Officers were called to a stretch of coastline at the northern edge of Dunbar on Saturday night (February 6) following a report of concern for a male.
"Unfortunately, after carrying out a search of the area, local police discovered a man's body.
"Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing however there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances at this time.
"As in all cases of sudden death a report will be sent to Procurator Fiscal."
A spokesman for the town's RNLI said: “The crew were deeply saddened by the task and their thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this sad time.”
