PRESTONPANS youngster Jack Henderson is in the running to add another prestigious award to his overflowing trophy cabinet.
The seven-year-old is up for the honour of Young Fundraiser of the Year at this year's annual JustGiving awards ceremony after he raised 32,000 for Edinburgh's Sick Kids' Friends Foundation by drawing pictures.
The foundation supports the Sick Kids' Hospital, and Jack was inspired to raise they money after his little brother Noah had been admitted there.
Between March and November last year, he drew anything requested of him in exchange for donations, and even had his own 'Jack Draws Anything' website and book published.
Jack said: "It took a long time to do the drawings and I was quite tired at the end but it was worth it to raise so much money. I can't wait to go to London for the awards ceremony." Maureen Harrison, chief executive of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation, said: "We all have our fingers crossed that Jack wins this award, which will sit very nicely alongside his other trophies." On March 1 Jack will attend the ceremony at Shoreditch Town Hall.
